Anne Bonny: Launch night

Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending the launch event for Anne Bonny spiced rum at the legendary Laki Kane in London. It was an evening filled with cocktails, chats, and familiar faces.

The night kicked off with a bit of scene setting off the history that inspired the brand. We learned about the legendary pirate Anne Bonny, whose fierce and adventurous spirit inspired this bold new rum brand whilst we sipped on a great welcome cocktail

Next came the highlight of the evening: the rum tasting. We sampled Anne Bonny Rum neat, allowing us to fully the spirit on its own (find my tasting notes here). Of course, it wouldn’t be a Laki Kane event without an array of fabulous cocktails. The talented team behind the bar crafted stunning drinks that showcased the versatility of Anne Bonny Rum, from a play on the classic daiquiri to innovative new creations (clarified mango surprise anyone 👀)

As the evening drew to a close, guests were treated to thoughtfully curated gift bags. The branding and storytelling continued to impress, with each bag containing a mini treasure chest filled with chocolate coins—a playful nod to Anne Bonny’s pirate heritage.

All in all, it was a fantastic evening celebrating the launch of another new rum, and I’m looking forward to playing around with this in some more cocktails.
